cb install in cubby hole on dash 06 silverado

Has anyone cut out the back of that cubby hole to install a cb radio for a more flush appearance? Its that weird slanting one that is below the acc plug in on the dash (on the left).

I'm going to pull the dash off anyway but if anyone has done this and can give me a heads up if this will even be an option or not that would be great. Thanks

You talkin about the console or the dash? That is one reason I am wanting a console in my truck so I can flush mount my radio in it.

he is talking about the 03-06 dash with out the console, i just screwed mine to the bottom of the dash under the cubby hole in my 03

Gotcha. I wanted a truck with a console for that purpose. My wife told me I was crazy. I went ahead and bought the one I got after I got on here and found out the consoles could be swapped in pretty easily. Gotta get the money up and find one now.

That's the one. No center console for me I like my front bench seat. Yeah, easy way to do it would be just mount it up underneath but man it would look clean tucked in there if possible.
