I yanked my airbox. Not that I think I'm gonna get some mysterious performance gain, I just hate how it looks and the amount of room it takes up under the hood. I happened to be at a large home improvement store and stumbled on just the perfect thing - a 4" drain elbow. It's a piece of corrugated plastic pipe that can be compressed or extended as needed with the ends made to snap into or over other pipes. It snapped into the collar in the fender and over the snorkel perfectly. Took all of 30 seconds to put in. Costs about $2.96 or so.

Next, I'm gonna see about getting rid of the thermostatic flap in the air cleaner.
