Say guys my brothers 2005 Duramax truck left him the other day and on a trip well last year he had two idler pulleys replaced because they were seizing well the third one shelled out and it though the belt good thing no sensors got messed up so guys if your trucks have over 150K miles think about changing all three of them out. I guess they go out as well because of all the power the engines have.

I had one making noise a while back and replaced it before she seized. Im surprised the bearing hadnt seized yet with how loose and dry it was

I hope this thread helps a lot of members here from breaking down as I wrote already all three went out on his truck it's only a matter of time guys check into yours.
Good luck! Roland
PS-What I have learned example why wait for a water hose to go out just replace it or all of them before you mess up you engine. My step-daughter waits for $hit to happen that's why I tell them im no taxi when your ride breaks down do what I tell you or else.

It has been a known problem.
But it's a simple fix too.
I am curious though, is your brothers a Cali truck? It should only have two idler pullies.
