Hey guys. Developed a nasty exhaust leak a couple days ago. Got under her and looked and sure enough the y pipe into the right manifold is rusted out. If I'm going to replace the y pipe I'm gonna get rid of the stock manifolds and throw some long tubes on there. But my problem is I cant find any y pipes for long tubes for my truck. The only y pipes i can find period are flowtechs, which mate to a certain flowtech header, none long tube. Besides i heard flowtechs are bad? any truth to that?? Well where can I find a y pipe, with no cat on it btw, for long tube headers? custom job?? Need some help and some opinions. Thanks in advance guys. Oh and truck is a 1994 Chevy k1500 Z71. 5.7 tbi.

Flowtech does make a set of OBS-specific longtube headers with a y-pipe, it's about $300-$350 for the whole setup iirc.

i saw a hedman set at jegs or summit with y pipe included that looked cool when i was shopping around for my oobs, wasn't cheap but if you can't scratch build a y pipe like me from U's and J's it would probably match prices or be cheaper then having a muffler shop build one, one may exist for your truck if they had one for my older rig

GEt one custom built if you want to keep your stock manifolds

Edit: Get longtubes and have a custom built y pipe made, should run about $150

That would cost pretty much the same (or more) than the bolt-on longtube/y-pipe setup from Flowtech.

HE asked for opinions. I think a set of Hookers coupled with a custom y pipe would fit much better and be of much better quality.

I have yet to see a muffler shop do a better job on a one-off than a company that designs vehicle-specific header/y-pipe setups.

I have one in my town that does beyond top notch work.
