Well, I've had this thing since October 2007. It's a 1981 Chevrolet C10 (Scottsdale trim level). I got it free (and running) from one of my dad's friends. It was given to the guy by his uncle (the original owner), and just sat on the guy's propety. He had had a few people inquire but nobody came for it, so he just signed it over to me to get it off his property. This is about the oldest pic I can currently find:

The fenders on the bed were rusted, cab corners and rockers were (and are still) shot, and the driver's side fender and door looked like swiss cheese. Replaced them and spray bombed them to "match" the truck and the numbers and stipes were born. Also added the billet grille, replaced the front bumper, added a CD player, a Grant 4-spoke mahagony steering wheel, and a dixie horn.

Since then I got some 20s with tires for $600 (to tide me over until I get the rims I want), replaced the bed fenders, swapped to a 89-91 front end (looking for a chevy grille if anyone has one), and swapped in a 2003 5.3/4l60e.

Future plans:
Cab- replace the rusted sheetmetal, shave/clean up the firewall, flush mount rear window, shaved driprails
Doors- NBS handles (possibly suicide the doors as well), NNBS mirrors, maybe one piece windows
Front clip- 91 Chevy grille with billet inserts, cowl hood (possibly forward tilt)
Interitor- Custom dash, NBS steering column, 60/40 seats
Bed- Rollpan, skinned tailgate, hidden latch, Caddy tails in the stake pockets. I'm also considering adding an outer bed wall that would mach the curve of the stake pockets
Suspension- bagged on 22s (or bigger)

Once I get my welder all set up I can really go nuts on the bodywork. Comments are appreciated, and if anyone could make a signature banner for me (with the newest pic) that would be cool!

Looks like a solid start, I am currently working on an 80 Indy Hauler GMC pickup.

Sweet! Are you restoring it to original?

It has been modified some, so the answer in not completely. Are you interested in selling the factory radio? Let me know.

I'd love to, unfortunately it's long gone. Hopefully you can find one somewhere.

Cool start to your project man! How hard was it to do the 5.3 swap?

LeoP....when you say Factory Radio are you referring to the AC Delco AM radio, by chance? I have one that I've been storing for a few years now that works that I took out of my '77. Granted it's only AM but would be cool for someone trying to keep their truck original.

I changed my mind, what do you need for your radio. Let me know.
