So, I been looking around to find a good sounding muffler, but I have a heddman turbo muffler. I want
Something that has more tone, and growl to it but when i get on it I have people look. I have duals duped before the rear axle with turndowns. I was thinking Flowmaster or Magnaflow.

A friend has the exact same truck I do but he has a Flowmaster on his. I really like the sound.

I have 2 Thrush glasspacks on my 91 305. Sounds ok, but under acceleration it has this weird crackly/snappy sound to it. I'll post a video of it later. Actually, I'm with 05bigblue05 on the Magnaflow as that's what I plan on putting on the truck to replace the glasspacks. They have a nice smooth tone to them throughout the powerband.

Id run a straight through muffler over a chambered type.

@ Orbital

The thrush glasspacks sound like that because they are cheap, Go thrush welded you'll never go back ;) i had same year obs you do & engine with the glasspacks know just what your talking about

For thread OP as i told Orbital go with thrush welded mufflers

Magnaflow for sure. I have been a Flowmaster man all my life but since discovering Magnaflow I will never go back.

Why anyone would buy a chambered muffler is beyond me, plus out of the original choices one is stainless one is not.

I really like the Dynomax Ultra Flo I had on my 95. Sounds real good dumped, Sounds good with tail pipes but just too quiet for me.

I'm not a fan of flowmaster, but lets keep the facts straight.

I was leaning towards the magnapack 4in round case, 20 in case.

Simply put:
if you like the constant rumble/growl then go with Flowmasters

if you want it quieter till you jump on the throttle, then go with the magnaflow

The guy is a little biased towards Magnaflow, but in the end it doesn't matter what he thinks as you can judge for yourself the difference between the two mufflers. For me, its Magnaflow. Sounds cleaner and smoother.
