So i hear now that a true dual exhaust can rob you of torque(less backpressure is bad??), and most guys are recomending a single three inch exhaust. At this point i have a single Y-pipe through the cat into a single in/dual out cherrybomb muffler to 4inch tips.
Now for the question, Should i keep this setup and find some headers or would true duals be a good investment
Thanks in advance for any advice.

for what its worth..had duals///paid 1200$ to get them...cost me another 600$ to get rid of them and go back to a single 3 in.....reasons..lost torque and sounded like hell..regained torque with 3in

On a stock engine with a stock cam there isn't enough valve overlap for the engine to be much effected by backpressure, unless there is a lot of it, or exhaust velocity, unless the pipes are open at the manifold.
Look elsewhere for torque. For around the cost of a complete exhaust system you could have the axle ratio changed out for 4.56's, or 4.88's and enjoy all kinds of torque.
