Scored a '71 C10 Short Bed Stepside

Hey guys, I've been a lurker for I don't know how many years now. I was on here back in 05-ish with a different username but forgot that login over the years. Anyway, I had an 84 Sierra Classic that I loved to death and apprehensively sold a few years ago. I got out of the Air Force last year and decided it was time for another project so I picked up a 92 K-5 Blazer. I lost interest in it pretty quick and was lucky enough to stumble across this truck. It was a young kid that bought this as a project and decided he wanted a 4wd instead. We negotiated a straight even trade and although he got the better deal for now, I'll have the last laugh this summer when I have time for a frame off resto. My dad had two 72 c10's when I was a kid, always had an affliction for the 67-72's and HAD to have it. This is surely one that I'll pass down when the time comes. It's a 71 C10 short bed stepside, pretty peppy 350/TH350, solid rockers, minor rust in the doors, needs cab corners and some stepside fenders. It has the tail lights frenched in the fenders which I can't stand unless it's done a certain way. I like the old round classic tail light look personally. Wood bed isn't in too bad of shape either but it'll be replaced this summer anyway. All in all, pretty solid start. It'll get the set of dart shp aluminum heads I've got in the garage and a nice lumpy cam with a new airgap intake and street avenger ultra carb probably this weekend when I can find the time. I need to order a new steering column, going to try one from Summit. Does anyone know the length of the column I'll need? Anywho, here she is.

And my old '84 Sierra Classic that I miss oh so dearly. This thing was a crazy fast sleeper. It was a dart iron eagle headed 355 with a comp cam, 2800 stall, holley street avenger on top of an edelbrock rpm intake, aluminum roller rockers, gear drive timing, hedman headers, msd distributor, and I'm sure I'm missing a whole bunch. Fun truck, never should've sold it...
