So I have a 97 k1500 suburban SAS'd with a 14bolt FF 4-linked rear and dana 60 kingpin front on 40" procomp Xterrains, Im in the progress of doin a build on the Motor/Transmission
My question is would it be possible to drop a k2500 suburban body onto my k1500 suburban frame to allow for the 454 & 4L80 setup on my truck
allowing for a built 454bbc and Patc's stage 3 4L80 transmission to take place of the stock 454/4L80
My plan would be to drop the k2500 body on my k1500 frame adding a built 454/4L80 using the stock fuel/computer system
upgrading the:
-fuel system
-adding custom tuner / custom tune
-compatible fuel pump for this setup
-custom driveshaft front & rear
-other components cooling/ignition/intake
Also what would it take to use the zz454 inplace of the stock 454??

the body will drop right on, or just swap the wiring harness. I'm no tuner so if I were doing the swap i would talk with the tuner of your choice about the engine swap. Off the top of my head you will need to make sure you have a crank sensor on the new engine, and replace the stock injectors.

Is there something wrong with the 1500 body? You don't have to swap the body to do the engine/trans swap. The body is the same (year for year), only badges are different (and interior options).

Like MtHead said above the 1500 and 2500 body are the same, no need to switch to do the swap unless your just trying to get a better body.
I'm assuming that your swapping from a 350 to the 454? You can either modify that stock harness or get the complete harness with the 454/4L80. Either way I would suggest modifying the harness to upgrade to the 0411 PCM while your at it. That will help with all the engine and tranny mods your talking about.
Fuel pump / fuel system should be the same provided that the truck your starting with is a 96 or newer, all of the vortecs used pretty much the same fuel system, the stuff that woudl be different is the FPR which is on the motor anyways.
As for the zz454, if you talking about just using the short block, that would be easy, just bolt all the stock intake parts to it and your ready to go. If your talking about putting it in there as a carbed motor thats a whole different animal.

acouple more questions
1-L31 to 454 bolt in or are the motor mounts different and if so what would be the easiest way to switch for the 454 swap
2-will the 454 / 4L80 harness's and computer stuff mount in the same locations??
3-any threads on 454 / 4L80 swap as for parts / modifacations need to do the swap??

I'm pretty sure that the truck side of the motor mount is the same for both the L31 and L29. So as long as you have the right engine side of the mount it should work.
The harness and computer will be almost identical with a few small things different here and there but it should mount in the same spots.
There used to be a 4L80 swap thread, that would give you most of the stuff you need. You'll have to search though, I don't have a link anymore.

I had heard the K1500 and K2500 frames were the same as well. The K1500 and K2500 truck though was different. Again, what I had heard. I haven't ever compared them.
I did put a 14SF in my K1500 Burb, bolted in like it was meant to be there.

I had a k1500 parts truck and the frame looked the same as my 2500 but was a little thinner.

I had heard there are marks on the frame that note C K and what class, half, 3/ 4 or 1t. But don't know where.

The front part of the frame is different between the 1500 and the 2500/3500 There is a guy on here that tried to swap 2500 4x4 parts into a 1500, and it doesn't work. The rest of the frame is all the same accept for some places are thicker or more gussets.
