X pipes.....differances ???????

I'm gonna put an X pipe in my 3" exhaust system that includes full length Schoenfelds, Dynomax Ulra Flo muffs.......I Know the original X pipes that look like two pipes cut and rewelded add a lot to the system...I have used them....but does anybody know anything about these stamped steel units that are all over the place now?? In theory they should work the same...

you can find them pretty cheap compared to others....not sure how long they would last though..........
