72 chevy headers

I have a 72 chevy with a 350crate motor in it and I want to put headers on it. I have a friend with
the headers. Before I buy the headers I need to know are the exhaust ports on the block oval or
rectangle? The ports onthe headers are oval. If the ports on the block are rectangle will they still
work. Also which headers gaskets should I use?
