Ok, my dad has a 96 suburban, he bought it and it had been lowered by the previous owner. It had lowering shackles in the rear, and the t bars had been turned down. But he put stock rear shackles back in and cranked up the torsion bars till the bolt bottomed out and it still sits low in the front. Do the keys for the bars get replaced when they get lowered? thanks

The previous owner may have put in 3/4 ton (purple) keys. They allow you to decrank the t bars lower than the stockers. Try getting some stock 1/2 ton keys.

Ok thanks! Are the keys painted purple, or is there a dot on them? The ones in mine are rusty so how would I know what ones they are? thanks

Not sure if they have any distinguishing markings on them. Maybe someone with more experience with them will chime in.
They were painted purple from the factory, but every torsion key I've seen is always "rust" colored, so it's impossible to tell from the color if they've been on the vehicle a while.
