Ive noticed alot of the "survival" or "expedition" stuff is getting more expensive now that its becoming more main stream. My girlfriend grew up in a family really into horses and always around horses and we found that if you look for horse outfitter gear, you get some really high quality, durable, longer term equipment alot cheaper than you would if it were "survival" or "expedition" camping specific. Alot of this gear would make it possible to be out in the wilderness for an extended period of time, especially if ur using a good expo vehicle or something that can be loaded up. We are starting to do more of the longer expedition stuff so well buy some of this stuff and try it out for a week or 2 at a time and see how it really feels to live out of it. What do you guys think?
Heres an example of one of the horse outfitter sites.

Army surplus stores work great too. They have a lot of gear for survival, everything from camping supplies to clothing wear. Most of the clothing in my suburban is Carhartt, but I have a lot of gear from the surplus like a small bbq, a small tent, tarps, rope, small shovel, a lot of stuff and it's all dirt cheap.

nothing really specific, but the wall tents would be nice to have for a base camp for longer trips, and the wood stoves for the colder areas during winter.

lol no but the wall tents are designed to have a wood burning stove in them for heat and some are pretty portable so id have it just if we planned on being in the wall tent for a while, cause their not a quick set up take down kind of thing that i would want to do if we were moving to do different sites every day.
