What the hell is offset? I understand back spacing. The wheel that I'm looking at shows by application to be a "-6" offset. I can find the width and lug pattern that I need in the style that I want but it is listed as just "6" offset. The "-6" wheel is too narrow. Does that mean that the wheel is -6mm from center? I'm thinking if a wheel is an 8 inch then it would be 6mm closer to the inside from the 4 inch center (1/2 of the 8).

if it's an 8" wheel with a 6 offset it has a 4.75" backspace

offset is from center line of the wheel +/-, back space is from the back... apparently theres also something called front spacing but not eally mentioned usually

and the rim is generally an inch wider then advertised width, so if you have 0 offset on an 8" rim you would think backspace=4, but it's 4.5" as shown above (8+1)/2

I was wondering this myself and looking at the Pic, I think I now get it.

Correct me if I am wrong but If you have Zero Off set that means it is lined up dead nuts on with center of the Rim.
So a Positive offset is toward the outside of the vehicle and Negative is towards the inside, Correct?

So back spacing is just the measurement from the Hub mount to the back of the rim.

Am I right or am I just getting myself more confused.
