Just got my 1st full size chevy in the 1st week of December. It's a 92 K1500 with a 350 and a stick. These rigs are something else with a stick, alot of fun. It's got 126k miles on her, frame is pretty decent for an upstate NY truck, (just starting to get a little rot at the end of legs, definately fixable), the body needs the usual cab corners, rockers, and all 4 wheel wells, but the cab and box is rock solid. Regular cab with an 8 foot box. Has a 3 inch body lift to. Never been a huge fan of body lifts but it looks pretty decent on this truck, makes it look alot like a 3/4 ton. Plan on fixing her up proper this spring/summer, so I'll be on soaking up all the knowledge i can. Thanks in advance!

Thats one of the biggest reasons for buying the truck, the TONS of readily available parts for em. They still look like a truck too. The K series from the 70's and early 80's are my favs but there aren't many that have survived the harsh conditions up here in northern NY. I HATE ROAD SALT! LOL

pfft 126K its just broken in the motor. Blue is up to 250K right now on the orginal engine, 5 speed, T-case and rear end. Only replaced the front diff when I hit it on a rock and the clutch finally wore out at 236K. Hell I would love to turn this in to a 383 stroker motor but the damn thing will not die. Keep up on the maintence and they never die.
My buddy bought a 93 that someone had done a cheap re-ring of the motor and got the bearing clearances wrong. It spun the 4 of the 5 main bearings, cracked the crankshaft in half, broke the number 3 main cap. Get this it still started right till we pulled the motor. To top it off they ordered a new set of aftermarket main caps that convert a 2 bolt to a 4 bolt dropped it off at the machine shop for a 383 build and then he put that motor in his race car and bought a crate motor for the truck since he needed that ASAP.
