hey guys. been away from home again. regular work will not let me work on my 6.5. drive me nuts. it is disassembled, crank will need turning, just a little too much wear. but my question is about the depression regulator system. my lb7 has an open to atmosphere system. why can't i mod my dr system to the open style like on my duramax? for the life of me i can't see why it would't be better. thanks

Some people have been modifying them to run straight to environment, with no immediate adverse effects...from what i've read.
As for the crank, I don't believe they can be turned IIRC They have a special nitride coating on them that will be worn away. If the crank is too bad, they make expensive but stronger replacements, if you want to go that way. I think SCAT makes a forged iron crank, or something like that. I believe Peninsular also has a special crank...which might be the same one LOL
