Hey everyone,

My name is Evan, I'm currently stationed here in Alaska and its cold... I recently purchased my second Chevy truck it's an 86' orange, 3 speed, with 305. after only having the truck for a couple of months it spun a rod bearing, assuming the oil pump went out. I started purchasing parts wanting to build a 383 to put in there, hopefully I'll have the project done by April, we'll see. that's pretty much it about me, I hope to learn a lot from the forums.

Welcome to the board man! Good luck with the rebuild, lots of guys have done 383's here and you will be able to find lots of info to help.

I've been purchasing a lot of parts, I almost have everything, bought a complete valvetrain kit from comp cams with a 107 overlap to give me that muscle car sound. I also recently bought my engine, rebuildable 350 with 4 bolt mains since there's only a 305 in my truck. only thing I need now is the actual stroker kit, and some pushrods. just waiting on my next paycheck. I was trying to post some pictures but it said I needed 5 posts to link anything to my post.
