Is the 94 injection pump specific to 94? I've seen some pumps listed from 94 and up while others are listed as 95 and up. I may need a pump...
We bought a 94 k2500. We bought it in a not running state from a local shop whose "top mechanic" diagnosed the truck as having a bad injection pump from the parking lot. When the owner asked what else it could be the mechanic said that it could be the lift pump or the relay. The old owner gave the go ahead to replace the lift pump and relay. That didn't fix the truck so the owner offered the title instead of paying for the parts and labor.
I bled the air to the filter, cracked the #1 injector line and dropped in two new batteries and the truck attempted to fire so I tightened the line and fired it up. It ran for about 4-5 seconds and it died. It did this twice and it won't do it again.
After some research I unplugged the optical sensor and no start or fuel at the once again cracked injector line. Plugged the optic back in and unplugged the engine shut off solenoid and the same results. I suspect the pmd or the pump but I have a bit more troubleshooting to do first.
I did find a complete injection pump with pmd for a reasonable price and I'm thinking about purchasing it because the cost is slightly more than just a pmd and I could easily sell the pump if it isn't needed.
