I've never dealt with them, I see their stuff forsale online time to time.

A bit more of a drive is Autoland outlets in Roscoe, IL and Lenz truck center in Fond Du Lac, Wi. I and several others have bought from Lenz, very nice selection of trucks. The price they post is the price, there is no negotiating with them.

Thanks Mark. Still looking, just found some prices there that beat most of the Nashville CL postings. May have to wait another yr, but I am actively looking now instead of just "wishing."

I haven't personally dealt with them. I have dealt with auto land outlets in roscoe. They have some deals to be had but really make sure you look everything over rigorously and let them know ASAP of issues. There's a ton of southern Il guys on here maybe they have some info.

They are up the road from where I live. Keep in mind that "all their vehicles are brought up from Texas and have never seen an Illinois winter." The owner is a douche-burger. My brother swears that they are the greatest thing since the NNBS replacing the NBS. Here is how my experience went with them last spring.

Me (Calling them): When do you guys open?
Whoever answered: 10 o'clock
Me: Ok, I will be there

The next day I arrive just before 10. I sit and wait for someone to open shop so I can look at a '97 1500 Z71. 10= no one, 10:15= no one, 10:30= no one. I get pissed and call their number (its the owner's cell).

Me: What time do you open?
Owner: 10 o'clock
Me: No you don't
Owner: Yes we do
Me: No you don't because I've been sitting here since 9:55 and no one is here
Owner: Oh, sorry I'm running late
Me: When will you be here
Owner: In like 5 mins
Me: Ok, I will be waiting
Owner: Ok, I will try to hurry
Me: *click*

45 minutes later someone finally arrives

The guy who shows up is not the owner or even an employee. He is the guy that does their body work. He lets me in, calls the owner and gets the keys for the truck I wanted to look at. We are talking while I look at the truck (he was bad mouthing the owner the whole time). Truck looks good in-out and under the hood. I take it for a drive and it drives like a tow truck that is pulling 30,000lbs and the passenger window doesn't work. I take it back and the owner finally arrived by then. The owner was blowing smoke up my azz on how great this truck was and how well it was taken care of. He had the body guy drive it and me to a garage up the road where the trucks get worked on. The guy said that it probably just needed a few plugs replaced. I said fine, I will come back in a few days after it gets fixed. The next day I got a call saying it was ready. I go for another drive. Does the same thing. This time I take it straight to my uncle (45 years under the hood of every type of car imaginable). He drives it then brings it into his shop for a thorough inspection. All plugs were fouled, the transmission fluid was burned, the oil looked like it hadn't been changed in years, the coolant was more rust than water, there weren't hardly any brakes left, shocks were gone, ball joints needed replaced, the frame looked like it was used as a plow truck with how much rust damage there was, and a few other things.

I understand its an older vehicle with some mileage on it. But if your going to sell something you need to at least change the fluids and give it a tune-up. The fact that they lied about having the issues I addressed fixed really turned me off from them. The body guy also told me that he just put newer used tires on, replaced the fender from an accident and repainted the door from the same accident.

Someone may have better luck than I did but I won't even go back to look at a trailer. All their trucks have tons of miles and don't have a history that can be followed since most were company vehicles from Texas oil fields.

As with most dealers, buyer beware. If your looking for a good used dealership try Pilson in Mattoon. I bought the '08 from them recently and my parents have bought their last 3-4 vehicles from them and refuse to go anywhere else. They may not have something heavier duty right now but they are worth waiting for. I will buy from them for now on with how great my experience was.

They do get them at auction. He isn't afraid to admit that.

a good thing to do (if you're not 100% on what to look for) is to call a friend who's a auto tech that knows about what you're looking at....ask him what to check out/look out for/listen for/known problems with the specific truck.....i help friends out all the time picking out vehicles but if i don't know i always try and point em towards someone who can help
