I put infinity plate 4x6s in my 92 about a year and a half ago and they sound awesome clear highs and the lows hit pretty hard for not having a sub, but if you wanted something different than a 4x6 you could look at the threads on here about installing different sized speakers in the kick panels or in the doors, good luck

Build a pod if you're really wanting to change it up. Otherwise there are many great sounding replacement options.

What are the best sounding 4x6's that people have used?

These are probably the best 4x6's you will find that don't cost an insane amount. I may put a set of these in the rear of my extended cab once I do my 95 interior swap, but I haven't decided yet. I tend to like front speakers only in my rigs.

Depends on what your budget is. Most replacement speakers will be an upgrade. Can't hurt to find a store where they have a number of them hooked up so you can test them out.

I was just about to post a new thread about the same thing when I saw this thread at the top. Wanting to upgrade mine also but was wondering if anybody's tried putting a 5" in the dash? I have pods on the door with 2 - ID 6 3/4 in each door just want a little more in the front for imaging. Have Infintys in dash now and sound really good but need just a little more than what the 4x6's are putting out.

Sorry not trying to thread jack but figured it might open up more options for both of us.
