So I'm installing some electric fans in my 88 350 Silverado and need a good underhood 12V switch source to run my relay. I don't really want to run wire all the way to the column if I can avoid it so please help if possible.

Get a test light and a friend, find the fuse box, start probing fuses to see which ones are ignition and which ones arent. Try not to go to the fuel pump if at all possible. When you find a fuse, pull it out and see which side of the slot is hot. Run your ignition sense there.
