I know this has been talked about....probably to death. I did do a search, and through the numerous pages of posts, don't see a clear cut answer.
see sig for truck details but has RPO AP8
I've been through GMPARTS direct
http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results.cfm?singlepart=1&AddPartNumber=17801236&partnumber=17801236
That's for a 1-way transmitter. I don't see any option for the 2-way (I know a lot of people don't like them, they're huge) but I don't see the option.
My question is......
I have the RPO code for the extended range whatever, and I can buy the fobs. All then I do is take to a dealer and have them unlock that bit in the computer and program the fobs? Could I buy the fobs online somewhere else cheaper (haven't looked, but want to know if its an option)?

I agree with other posters, I don't want an aftermarket system, I've had in the past, to many problems, and I don't like the idea of some teenager getting paid minimum wage poking around my wiring. My truck came pre-setup for a factory system, fully integrated and bundled wires, its the cleanest option.
What RPO code do you need for the 2-way remotes? Are there any other things needed besides just the remotes for either option?

Like I said, I know this topic has been beaten......but wanted to get my own clear answer. Thanks.

Call the dealership and ask , while you do that get the part number then check on internet to see if you can find lower price. It will still have to be programmed...
Most all of the NNBS trucks ( unless its a WT ) are prewired with factory remote start and you just have to buy the new remotes.
They also do offer a OEM impact sensor for the security upgrade , I did it on my truck.
