dash swap help

ok have a 94 silverado and going with a 96 dash.

i like to know if i can cut the pig tails off the headlight switch and wire the 96 to the 94 harness....and do the samething with the heat controlls and im not keeping the air just heat.... oh yeah can i do the same with the cluster? its a diesel to diesel cluster. thanks
