I have a 94 ext cab when I bought the truck te radio played music but only through one speaker (driver side dash speaker) then after a few months out of no where just stopped working !?!?!? I have no idea what happen...everything is stock radio/system is virgin never touched I herd these trucks have like a factory amp somewhere that can and usually burns out and stops te entire radio is this true ? Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated !! Thanks in advance fellas

right above the gas pedal under the dash is the radio's control box/tuner/amp. the whole shi-bang.

I'd be surprised if any pre '94 trucks with OEM radios still work.
Those factory amps go out all the time.
Replacing it isn't that hard. Gotta relocate the amp power/speaker wires to the center of the dash.

The plugs that plug into the amp are the same wires that will power your aftermarket radio. Just take the amp out, unplug it, and pull the tree-clip loose in the dash and the wires will reach the factory cassette location easily.
