I couldn't find much info on good drop shocks for NNBS RCSB. My dad has an '08 Sierra RCSB. We lowered it 3/6. He bought Mcgaughys drop shocks for the rear because we found out they are made by KYB. They seemed okay at first on a short ride. But, my dad has since driven the truck a bit more and said they are real stiff. He doesn't want bouncy shocks but he doesnt want em stiff like a board. I have used DT in the past on my 2DR Tahoe and my dad used them on his 2DR Yukon. So he was going to opt for Summit Sport Truck Shocks since they are Doestch Tech shocks. He problem is that they do not list and shocks for NNBS dropped 6" in the rear. He does have shock extenders. Also, I would like to know, since shock extenders add about 1-2" of travel, couldn't he get the summit shocks for his truck that say rear 1", 2", 3", 4", or 5" drop?, because with the extenders its basically a 4" drop if they add about 2" of travel. I would also like to know for when i drop my '01 ECSB 3/6 because i want to get summit shocks. But, its the same situation for my truck. They just have em for 1, 2, 3, 4. or 5" rear drop, and for all those drop heights its the same shock. So if someone could give the part numbers that we need for summit shocks thatd be great. Or, i would appreciate any other reccomendations on drop shocks that are not super stiff. Ive heard good things about Belltech Street Performance but ive never liked theyre shocks. I had street performance on the rear of my old hoe and swapped to DT and liked em alot more.
But, my brother put my old street performance shocks on his '92 ECSB and loved em. And my cousin likes em on his '99 OBS ECSB.
Any recommendations accepted.
Thanks.

why didnt you like the street performance shocks? if they were too soft that may be because they were on your hoe and that's heavier in the back then a truck. im using beltech nitro drop in the back and like them but they are stiff.

well i think i just didnt like the street performance because that was back when i had a 2/4 drop with leafs in the back, so it was a bit bouncy, quite a bit!
but, anyway, can anyone tell me if i can run the summit shocks that are for a 1/2/3/4/5" rear drop with a 6" rear drop with shock extenders? i think so but just wanna check...

best thing to do is to just get under and measure out the distance between the 2 mounting points and find the shock that fits. i do know that the passenger side is a little longer then then the driver side. if you can get me the measurements i could point to the ones you could run. as far as i know the shock extenders don't really add distance, they just change the angle of the shock.

oh ok, so just measure the mounting points with the truck on the ground? yea i know they are different, summit has rear driver and rear passenger with 2 different part numbers

ok well i took a couple measurements, my truck isnt dropped yet, doing it soon, but for my dads NNBS dropped 3/6, the drivers side shock with the truck on the ground, hole to hole is 17-1/2", and the passenger side is 18-1/2"...and to clear things up, i wasnt quite sure if the shovk extenders allowed for a longer shock either, but they do actually add right at 1" more for a 1" longer shock, so i would think that shocks listed for a 5" rear drop should work, i would like to know which summit shocks he can use, and i think he already found the numbers for the street performance shocks, then he'll just have to decide, i really liked the doestch techs or summit shocks on my old hoe after i dropped it 5/7 with the hotchkis coils and djm spindles up front and a djm flip kit out back

well, using the measurements i took, i think my dad and i can use the same shocks once mine is lowered, atleast for his now since its already lowered, correct me if im wrong but i think he can use the SUM-G77041 for the drivers side and the SUM-G77042 for the passenger side, and since they apparently fit 0-5" rear drops, with shock extenders i should be able to use the same ones once i drop mine 4/6

yup those should work. i wasn't sure on the extenders adding length but i guess they do.
