2007 Sierra Classic SLE xcab (no onstar, with BOSE)

Got some old gear laying around, thinking of:

-subthump dual downfire 10" with amp space

Old Gear specs:

AMP- RF P3001

300 W x 1 @ 2 Ohms RMS
Max power output: 900 Watts
Crossover HP 40-400Hz 12dB per Octave LP 40-400Hz 12dB per Octave
Bass Remote 0 to 18 dB @ 45 Hz
Signal input Low level, Quantity, 1 Type - RCA
Power Input Connector - Block
Wire gauge - 4
Speaker output Block
Cast Heat Skin
Class A/B
Frequency response 20 to 20k Hz +/- .5 dB

Subs - RF P210S4 Two 10"s

10" 4-ohm subwoofer
molded polypropylene woofer cone
60-ounce magnet
power range: 50-200 watts RMS
peak power handling: 400 watts
frequency response: 20-200 Hz
sensitivity: 85.8 dB
top-mount depth: 5-3/8" (without removable magnet cover. With cover, depth is 5-5/8")
sealed box volume: 0.65 cubic feet
ported box volume: 1.25 cubic feet

Will be wired 4gau.

See any problems or tips?
Any tricks to wiring subs?

Not an audio guy, just want to make sure I'm doing it right. Had most of this gear in a vehicle or two already.

that amp will slightly under power the subs, but not too bad just don't push the subs too hard other than that everything else seems fine, if anything upgrading to a 2 ohm stable mono amp that does 500RMS would be the best but what you have will work and work fine, as long as you don't push the subs too hard, be sure to set your amp input voltage up properly as well. good luck with the install.

Thanks for the reply man!

This amp actually does ok with these subs, had them in the 92. The amp seems more powerful than rated (ie specs saw 900W MAX, birth sheet said 1267W MAX).

I'm sure the clipping the factory HU will do will make it even safer.

not a must, but would make a difference if you added a cross-over.....

In addition to the amps crossover?

youll be fine with the built in crossover your amp has.

max wattage doesn't matter though, you are probably seeing around 325-340 RMS out of that amp at best at 14.4v, but as you said it has done fine so far so changing it is not a big issue as long as you make sure it doesn't reach clipping.

Sweet.

Thanks guys.

Does your truck have the center console similar to a tahoe? I've had good luck installing smaller sub amps under the front of those consoles. It's easy to run power and ground there, plus you're in close proximity to the bose amp to grab signal and remote.

My truck has the full SLE console, right to the dash. The bose amp is under the cupholders, which is where the AOEM-GM24 will go to convert to an RCA and give a remote.

I already have the 2 10's and amp, so I'll probably just go with the box under the rear seat.

Definitely, I was just talking about amp placement.

I see, hmmm.

Dunno if my amp woudl fit there. I should consider that though to gain a little more airspace in the box. Might have to pull my console to get a look.

That rockford amp is pretty small. If you pull the console back, you'll see there's a ton of room almost directly under the dash. The only FSC's I haven't been able to put amps there are the Avalanches that have the rear air in the console.

I have HVAC in my console for rear passengers.
