static drop maximum is probably 6/8, but theres no way u can align that and thats on the ground...tat would be 3"coils, 3" lower arms, and 6" flip kit with 2" shackles
or u can do 4/6 which is a pretty nice stance and what most people end up doing...just need 2" spindles, 2" coils, and a flip kit for the back and a c notch for 4/6

the avalanche is coil spring rear end so, the flip and notch I THINK are out of the question.

oh ok, never really took a good gander at an avalanche, then just lowering coils for the back, just like a tahoe, i think u can get 5" drop coils, so 3/5 would be lowest

Go with McGaughys, they have a 3/5 & a 4/5 kit available for the Avalanche.

Make sure to get proper shocks and bump stops, good-luck
I went 3/5 drop on my Tahoe, same suspension setup with the coild in the rear. Not sure about the avalanche, but I had to remove my factory bumpstop and brackets to prevent bottoming out. 5 is what I would say is the lowest you can run bolt on without modifying the frame.
