96 5.7 compatibility

hi i have a 96 chevy cheyenne with a vortec 305 and want to swap in a 350 i was wondering what model years are fully compatible and also if i can use a 90's block and put my heads and intake on thanks in advance

96 and up 350 vortecs will work, the 305 computer will even run the 350 but i would recommend getting it tuned to the 350 map. not sure about the 90's block with your heads though.

350 should swap right in, grab a computer out of a 350 truck. and no you cant use 305 heads on a 90's 350. it would bump the compression way up and just be a slug, sure you could do it, but i dont suggest it, you could infact grab the 90's block and put 350 vortec heads on it though.
