Before anyone says it...Im dizzy from the search function.

I have a 1990 K1500 stepside that is stock.....looks like it was "grand dad's" church going truck, so its bone stock (other than AEM cold air intake).

What I would like to find is a stainless long or mid-length header that is internally coated. From what I have read it is better to stick with the catalytic and single muffler 3" outlet. I would like to gain some amount of perfomance for the amount of $ invested, but exhaust tone is the most important to me....deep mellow tone no rasp and pop.

I plan on keeping the truck for a very long time....possibly passing it to my son.

if its stainless, whats the point of it being internally ceramic coated?, other than if someone were to look inside ur headers...not sure what the point of that is, but all u hwve to do if thats what u want is buy the pacesetter quiktrip longtube headers with armor coat and send them to jet hot to be coated internally, or save some money and buy the painted ones and send them to be coated...as far as i know, noone makes stainless headers for the 5.7, only place that might have em for the 88-95 is eBay

Well my intent was to keep the heat down as much as possible. My engine is the 350 TBI not a vortec  Ebay is what I have been looking at....I can only find the shorty length so far.

http://www.stainlessworks.net/ They offer stainless headers but you would still have to get them coated.

yea i noticed the '90 k1500, so i edited my post and removed the vortec, i knoe u have a tbi 350, i think i remember seeing some 92-95 stainless longtubes on ebay, but, thing is, stainless wont keep things any cooler than plain old carbon steel, so ur best bet is to just buy some tbi 5.7 pacesetter quiktrip longtubes (painted ones) and send them off to Jet Hot, they coat everything internally and externally

if your giveing it to your son in time do it right..by a good set of ceramic hookers...any local powder coat company will have heat treatment coatings they could possible use...know there are coatings some add to the underside of intakes to keep heat away from tbi

would avoid anything on ebay or you ll be replaceing in couple years

I have stainless steel mid lengths on my truck (1992 tbi), got them on ebay and have had them on for about a year or so and no problems yet. I don't know if anyone makes long tube stainless steel headers for a reasonable price.
