Hey everyone I need a kit to hook up the EGR system on my 97 Vortec 350 to some TBI 350 shorty headers. A friend of mine sold them to me for 20 bucks so I couldnt pass up the offer. I searched and find that edelbrock kit #2899 will work but is pretty much unavailable. Anyone know of another company sells an EGR adapter kit?

Ditching the whole idea on hooking up the EGR. Gonna get 411 PCM and connectors from Lextech do the swap and disable the EGR with HPT. Oh and i was wondering about a block off plate. I was looking at the factory EGR block off plate on my 2004 cavalier and noticed it is similar in pattern to the vortec egr. Anyone think it will work?

ok confirmed I got off my lazy arss and took the egr plate off the Ecotec and took the egr valve off the vortec 5.7 and it works same mouting holes and plenty of space around the hole to keep it from leaking. The plate is 1/8th inch black painted steel. I guess all that is needed now is a egr block off plate and gasket from an Ecotec 2.2. The Eco gasket is metal and should be able to reuse.

Just a little info on the Ecotec all these engines from 2003-2005 and I believe older 2002 Ecos were not equipped with EGR valves but were plumbed for it. Something about piston design and how it was efficient enough to not need an EGR valve. So GM just blocked them off.

Here is a pic of the plate. Not my pic but a pic from a forum that I am on.

thanks. I confirmed fitment and I dont have to fabricate or order anything online. I will more than likely find one thrown on the floor of a mechanic shop or junkyard.
