Hey guys.I have a 97 Chevrolet ext cab 5.7 .I'm gonna do a 4/6 drop. I have a 15x7 in front and a 17x9.5 in rear. What do you suggest. I know because of the staggered size it's trick getting tires right but I know someone on here knows what to do.

Appreciate it

any reason why only a 15 in front and 17 in rear? its gonna be hard to get the tires to look right with the drop and a 17 in rear to get the right size tire on the front on a 15 you will need like a 245/60/15 or 255/60/15 to get a decent ride. but if you put the same profile on the rear it will appear to large for your drop. imo run 17 all the way around and stagger them with like 17x8 on the front if you go to narrow imo on a truck doesn't look right unless your going for that PRO STREET appearance. if you want some sizes that will look good smallest i would just would be a 235/60/15 on front and a 275 or 285 on a 50 series tire then your overall diameter of the front and the back are fairly close and won't look to awkward.

A 2" difference is quite a bit of a jump. I think you can do it, but it may look funny. I'd suggest staying around a 28" tall tire for it to look and ride correctly. Here's a tire calculator to help you figure out what your looking for and a couple suggestions.

MT makes an ET street in 295/45r17 for the rear. They will hook up good and look right but will not last very long at all.
I'd say look for around a 275/60r15 for the fronts. I know quite a few companys make tires around that size.

edit: Lots more tire options if you run 15's in the rear also.
