Might want to talk a little about your mpg expectations, hp and torque expectations, use of the truck, other mods, etc etc.
Without that info it's impossible to recommended a cam.

I'm betting 2500, as I don't think there are that many Vmax 2007 GMT800s. Could be wrong though. :dunno:

I was thinking more along the lines of he did an engine swap, but had he done so this thread probably wouldn't of been started since the chances are he would have a better idea of what cam he would want.

One would think so.

Ok so my truck is a 2500HD. I would like a little more torque/horsepower. If it sounded like an old school car like the lopey sound I guess tgat they make lol. But I dont plan on doing to many mods just a few things here and there.

I wouldn't get a cam with a exhaust/intake duration below 216 or one higher than 224, really there are a sh!t ton of cams to choose from. It depends on what you want to do, how many modifications you want to do, and what you're willing to sacrifice.
No matter what though you're going to want to do some longtubes with any cam.

Ok well really the only performance mods I want to do is long tube headers, cam, port and polish TB

What do you use your truck for?
When ever you do a cam, you need to change out your valvesprings and pushrods.

I only drive it on my days off work and I just take it out and drive it around a bit. Stock v-springs and p-rods

No towing?
Stock valvesprings/push rods won't hold up to an aftermarket cam.

Nope no towing.
Ok so what should I go with for a cam, valvespring, and pushrod set up?

Are you willing to run a torque converter with a larger stall?
You're looking at ~$800 for a stall for you 4L80E

Well...if you don't want one disregard the numbers I threw out earlier. Just get a 212/218 cam and enjoy the torque monster

The PAC 1218's will be good for you

Ok so what do I want for lobe seperation and pushrod length? So I want the 212/218 cam and PAC1218 springs?

The normal 7.4" rods SHOULD be good, you don't have a choice with lobe separation with that kit, it would come as 115 LSA

Alright sweet you have been A LOT of help! is there anything I can do to it to get a little more pull out of her with out spending a lot of cash? Like minor stuff I guess. It has a CAI on it and thats about it. Lol

Well when you get the cam you're going to need a custom tune which will do wonders even on an otherwise stock truck...but the list you gave earlier is about as much as I would do for bolt ons.
My next step for a 6.0 in a 2500 after all those goodies would be a supercharger.
Here's Thunder Racing's site, down a good bit they have a Comp cam 212/218 with a 114 LSA which will give a choppier note rather than a 115 LSA.

If you are familiar with ricers, tuning shouldn't be anything new.

Yeah I should but all I did with it was cosmetic's and exhaust. Lol

They program the PCM so the truck operates at optimal performance for any modifications you have done.

Where can I go to get this done and rough estimate of cost?
silverado_lover

I'm gonna guess you're in Cheyenne, Wyoming? Usually if your going to do internal mods, you'd want a tune done in person instead of via mail. So look for a tuner in your area and if you can't find one I would get in touch with Nelson Performance, fill out their custom tune form, and wait for the tune to arrive. A tune will usually cost ~$300

Even a remote tune will work if it is based on a datalog after internal mods.

That and since it's such a generic cam any experienced tuner will know what to do

Yes. I live in Cheyenne Wyoming. Would someone at a Chevy dealership be able to do one ir a for wheel drive shop?

Or even a four wheel drive shop* stupid auto correct
Quyonmob

Not at the dealer. Likely not at a 4wd shop.
Black Bear can remote tune with the autocal.
