On so I have a 2000 silverado ext cab. So far I have upgraded the entire factory system. Sony CDX-GT700HD head unit, both front door speakers to 6 1/2 Sony explodes and both rear pillar 4x6 to Sony explodes as well. Sound is great, crisp clean and sufficient bass. But I want more. A little more kick and a little more sound. So was gonna add an amp and sub(s). Was think one or two 10's. That's not the issue what amp am I looking for? How many channels? What power? I have looked at them and the ranges in channels and power are broad, as I'm sure y'all know. So what am I looking for.

Xplods are honestly garbage.....sorry. :(

Should've gone with some Apline S's possibly Kickers. As for a subs, you looking to do an underseat box? Prefab or making it yourself?

Not sure yet, depends on what I can find available. But I am definitely going under the back seat

Unless you plan on running a ton of power, or are a serious audiophile, I highly doubt anyone would be able to tell me the difference in sound produced by a sony speaker and any other companies entry level speaker.

That being said, what are you looking to do with the amp? Are you just wanting to run the subs, or would you like to amp your door speakers and subs? If you just want to run subs I would suggest a small mono-block amp, but you need to narrow down what subs you're going to run and what resistance the subs are before you start shopping for an amp. If you want to amplify your door speakers too, you can buy an all in one amp (5 channel) that will give you a 4 channels of out put for your door speakers, and a sub channel. If you want to amplify everything and save some money, you could buy a larger 4 channel amplifier run all your door speakers off the front two channels, and bridge your rear outputs to power a sub. If you have a budget in mind, post it up, and I'll see what I could recommend to you.

Was looking at the Sony explode xs-gtx101lw, just stick with the whole Sony thing, I would like to run my amp for the sub and two front door speakers. I'm not trying to totally cheap the system but not looking to break the bank, dot need a competition style system just something nice while I'm going to and from work.

That sub would be fine for what you're wanting to do. I would honestly avoid Sony for amplifiers as I have had a decently high failure rate with them, and the inboard crossovers leave a lot to be desired. An alpine MRX-V60 would be a good fit for not a huge price (<$300). It will give you 50 watts x4 and a 200watt x1 channel for sub, so you will have full ability to retain fade and balance and independent sub control. Not sure what your budget is, but I think that would make a kick ass little system.
