My '89 Silverado is my on-again, off-again daily driver for now. My normal DD is a cammed TBSS and eats 93 octane like it's going out of style. I like to switch it up occasionally and rock the truck, especially in the winter. It's a blast to drive and it's driven very hard, and I'm sick of the horrible stereo quality, and the fact that I have to use a cassette for an auxiliary input.

With my other rides, I either bought all the stuff dirt cheap or went to Crutchfield, did it right, and rewired everything. With this, I don't even care as long as it's cheap.

My concerns:

1) This has one of those strange square boxes as the actual received, and then it has a tape attachment in the center of the console. Can I replace that square box with some kind of filler or something that can utilize the hole as a pocket? If so, where can I get them?

2) The tape attachment looks a little weird as far as diameter. I don't think a cd player would fit without going to town with a dremel or getting some kind of mount kit. Do they have a mount kit that is easy to install without replacing the whole section with the vents, or do I need to buy the whole mount including the vents? Any help is appreciated. I'm pretty sure I can find some after market speakers I either already have or on the internet and a head unit for under $100. A guy can dream at least.

Thanks.
