got got a 02 chevy silverado 1500 v6. i cut off the stock muffler and put on a thrush welded muffler. i liked it at first but its still got too much of a hummmm to it (that bees in a coffee can sound ive seen other people talk about). i want to start hearing the individual pistons fireing. My first thought would be to use a resonator to cancel out unwanted sound. I have heard of people using glasspacks as resonators but im wondering if that would give me what im looking for. Im not trying to make it quieter, just more bang bang less hummmmmmmm
Should i go..
1. glass pack and thrush muffler
2. glass pack only
3. resonator and trush muffler
4. resonator only
5. other

i think i might totally get a new muffler which i didn't want to do. i like the way this spintech sounds http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSR7bZGacXE but not the spintech price. 100 after tax is a little more than i wanted to spend. any ideas on how to get this sound for half that price? will it still sound that good on a v6? im pretty sure the truck in that vidio had a v8

one problem is that a v6 will never sound like a v8, ever, but spintech is ur best bet on a v6 from some that ive heard

You want to hear the individual cylinders firing? Get a real real real real real real real real big cam. Someting that idles at 60 rpms. Yes 60, not 600, 60. Other than that, swap a V8 or download V8 exhaust tones and play them over a loud speaker.

My buddy just did a simple Flowmaster 2 chamber (that's what us old guys call a 40 series) on his 2000 S-10 Xtreme 4.3, and its the only V6 I've ever heard that didn't sound like crap. Granted, it didn't sound like a Top Fuel car, but I think you'd hate that after a while.

why not over 3k?
i want to keep the cats in so its legal.
both of these vehicles have a V6 and the same muffler (spintech super pro streets)but the mustange sounds better, is it just inevitable that a 4.3 sound bad, and what is that whisling noise, is it the intake?

Hell yeah man, I have a different motor now and the Spintech is even better. It's really tame cruising but when I get on it all hell starts breaking loose.
You can only get Spintechs from their site, and the sound is well worth the money paid.
