Hey guys, just bought the oem style bushwacker guards so now the fenders are going to stick out even further...want to make a wider rim/tire combo so it doesnt look dinky like the ultimate GFX edition trucks.....looking at an 18x9 rim with around a +10 - 20 offset....dunno what tire. the local shop was recommending to go 20" rim due to it pushing the tire wider and not to go lower that 10mm offest or ill rub for sure.....i think an 18" would be better for doing some light offroading not to mention cheaper. and im sure you can still get the extra inch or two width with a 18"....I have a 1.5" lvl as well. not too concerned about tire height. my stock 32" is plenty!!! Thanks for your input!

Not really sure what you are looking for here. An 18x9 wheel is the same 9" wide as a 20x9 wheel and if both wheels have the same offset and bs then they will stick out the same ammount.

Basically im looking for a coupke inches extra width so new tire is flush with the bushwacker fender flares. whats the best size tire to achieve this while maintaining 32" or approximate height and little to no rub with +12 offset 18x9 rim. thanks dont f

So are you getting the "OE" style that gives an extra 1/2" of tire coverage...

or the "Extend-A-Fender" that gives an extra 1 3/4" of tire coverage...

Stock sizes for the chevys are...
245/70/17
265/70/17
265/65/18
275/55/20

Your best bet is to check the manufacture website for the tires you have and get the actual size, then look at some 285's in the tire you would like and check that manufacture website for actual sizes so that you can see the difference in height and width that you will be getting yourself into. Without actual tire info all we can do is speak in generalities and rough numbers because each manufactures actual size verys so much.

Well i have 20x8.5 +35 offset with 275/55r20 and they sit inside the fender an inch. id like to sell these and go with an18x9 rim with +12 offset i have picked out. But what tires will achieve the width? another thing to think about is +12 offset too much? Maybe +18 or +20?

That's the first time I've seen the extend a fender. I like the look. Are they any good? I could use these so I don't have to wash my damn truck every other day due to the mud in the rail yard I work in.

Refer to that post on picking out the tires you want.

Bushwacker makes nice flares, by the look of the truck in your sig I would say you can pull it off. I hate when people stick flares on stock, or dang near stock height nnbs trucks, then end up looking like highrail train track trucks because the fenders already stick out so much. You really need a big wide tire to pull the look off.

cant find that OE style pic you posted anywhere on their site when you pick gmc sierra, it shows bigger flares more akin to the style of the extenda fender and says 3/4 " coverage....why is it different when you look at the silverado? hmm...I definitely have the bigger oe style not the ones in your silverado pic there....fawk. I could pull off a clean look with stock rims and tires if I had the silverado oe style. i guess teh silvy ones wont fit a sierra then....damnit!

1st. I wouldn't worry too much about the '07 because that was the first year of the nnbs, so you should be alright.

2nd. If you have a short bed that part should be fine.

3rd. Is your truck a sierra or silverado? The nnbs trucks have different shape fenders from Chevy to GMC

4th. Look on the inside lip of the flare, there should be mounting holes that will line right up with the factory holes in the fender. Measure from that hole out on the flare and then measure from that hole out to the edge of the fender, subtract the fender measurement from the flare measurement and you will have your extra tire coverage.

5th. With your stock rims and tires on the flare will stick quite a bit out further than the tire, no matter what size it is. I personally don't like that look, I think it looks like a high-rail railroad truck, but I don't have to drive it.

I have the sierra...so new tires and rims it is.
some people are saying i can go as high as 12.5" wide though with just the level. others saying 11.5" but my tire is already around 11.10"...im just gonna go big and see what happens!!!
