So I found a set of 15" American Racing AR39's for $150, the guy said they are off a 94 k1500, I am looking at putting them on my 98 k1500 4x4. My question is because the stock wheels are 16" will these wheels clear the front calipers? My dad said that he has had some that would and some that won't without spacers. The seller says they will fit, but I do not want to drive the 2 hours to find out they won't clear without a spacer. Just wondering if anybody had experience running this setup. I do not know the backspacing, but it should be close to stock.
Thanks,
JR

If they came off a 94 K1500, they should bolt straight up to your 98, unless there has been a big brake kit put on. Both of those trucks were built on basically the same chassis.
Might I suggest you get him to meet you half way on the deal, instead of driving 2 hours one way.

Yes, they will clear.

May have to do a little grinding on the edges of the calipers, just extra material anyway, its not much that needs to be removed either if needed.

Thanks guys. I drove to Maine yesterday and if anybody else is wondering this series fits with no modification. The offset is not bad either, they are probably a half inch out form under the fenders, but I am just going to run a wide tire and get flares.

What is the back spacing? Curious, I just picked up a set of 15 x 8 wheels myself to run on my 97 burb. I have a set of 15 x 10s that I bought, but with the 33s that are on them they rub the lower back corner of the front bumper with the wheel cranked. I plan to run 33x12.5x15s on it now, with a 2" lift I don't see any trouble.

Not sure on the backspacing, I can measure it next time I get a chance to. I am probably going to go to either a 60 or 50 series tire instead of the 70 series that I run now, but keep the 265 size until I can afford a lift.
