So a quick follow up on my Alpine/stinger install...Supposedly my local shop is having an issue warrantying one of my Type-S alpines due to them discontinuing that model or style. Unfortunately, I've found out why they might have done this cause I've had both of mine go "**** up" since finishing it. They sounded great, but couldn't keep up with mediocre levels. I don't feel I pushed them too hard which really bothers me as to why they blew.
My question is...Has anyone heard the Type-R shallow mount subs? I'm looking to upgrade to them for the sake of the added cu. inches overall in my box and the higher power threshold. From what the company is saying, they have the sound of a normal sub but just thinner. BUT, I'm not exactly sold on what the company is saying. I'm assuming shallow mount subs won't produce the bass that a conventional sub does, but do the type-R's? For the cost of what they are going for I would sure hope they can.
Any input would be helpful and appreciated. Thanks.
