I have a 2004 silverado 1500 z71 with the 5.3L vortec. I'm trying to figure out what muffler would be the best to use of I wanted a low rumble at idle and not too loud under acceleration. Looking for that deep throaty sound.

A turbo muffler in the brand of your choice would be good. Some say they are a step above stock with a deeper tone.

Yeah, that's what my brother-in-law put on my truck when he had it (troo duels becuz RACECAR!!1!!1), and I was surprised at how good it sounds. They're dumped right before the right rear wheel, and it has a nice rumble, but isn't annoying on long trips.

Someone said a flowmaster super 44 is the closest to stock. I can't tell from the youtube videos

If your looking for a fews dbs louder then stock then get a turbo summit sells them cheap,i would get a chambered muffler, summit also sells them cheap,I say get the thrush welded or summits brand which is jones exhaust.

A thrush welded and a turbo will sound very different from each other, with the thrush welded being louder. Dynomax super turbos have gotten good reviews amongst members here as well as on other forums.
