I want to swap the motor on my truck and ive seen alot of posts about swapping the 4bt but i would really like to put in a dmax what would be necessary for this to become a reality

I know this is going to be pricey bit I love this truck and the body style im not looking to change models I just want to know what parts are involved with this swap

Well you would need to find a donor truck with a duramax, and get the motor, transmission, harness, etc. Not sure if the radiator/intercooler would fit or not. You would have to fab motor mounts and probably would have to get a body lift for more clearance. Its definitely going to take a lot of modifications and fabrication.

If you have to ask such a general what needs to be done question chances are you dont have the ability to do it now anyway. Its not a simple bolt in and done project. 12 valve swaps are popular because they use a standalone computer, duramax does not which means a LOT more custom fit work as far as electronics goes.

You can get a stand alone computer and wiring harness now.PPE and somebody else makes them too.A donor truck would make it easier.the parts are out there now.just takes dollars.
