I installed a vette servo in my 06 crew cab a couple of weeks ago and it came with a longer pin (no grooves). I reinstalled the stock pin with 2 grooves. Should I install the longer pin or leave the stock pin and not mess with it?

I'm pretty sure for the most part mechanically they're the same (aside from any small updates for better parts, etc.), the E-transmissions just have sensors and are electronically controlled unlike the older 700/4L60.

It works for all 4L60E transmissions. The servo diameter has not changed.
When I did it in my Tahoe, I reused the factory pin. I did replace a couple of the seals though.

The stock pin with the Vette servo works beautifully in mine.
I don't see any reason to experiment with a different pin.

Thanks for the replys, ill just leave the stock pin in and get a stiffer intermediate spring for the 2-3 shift. Has anyone used the superior 4th servo?

In the 4L60E's I've set up, I've used just the Vette servo and the Transgo "HD2" kit, and that's all they've needed for quick solid shifts. The only exception is in my Impala pushing about 600 hp with the spray through the 3-4 shift; I use the Fairbanks servo set instead of the Vette servo for that.
I'm not sure what you're referring to with "stiffer intermediate spring for the 2-3 shift".
