Ok, so I'm done with the exterior mods and such my truck. It's time to make this thing FAST. I bought an AWD one with the intentions of good launches. So far- K&N CAI, Magnaflow muffler only, And it has an EDGE CTS programmer (hate it). This week I am getting American Racing 1 7/8" with ceramic coating installed with Catless midpipes. Also it is getting HP tuned here locally and I'm getting rid of the Edge. What's next? Stall converter and Cam are the next steps unless you guys have a better idea. There is "gypsy denali" on youtube with full bolt on's, LT's, cam and stall, and he is beating C6 corvettes. I want that. Later on down the line, I will eventually boost it and maybe some spray when it doesn't become a daily driver. What would yall suggest on Cam's and Stall? Mind you I have 24's but also would be running 17" yukon wheels when going to the track and such. I want this thing to lope pretty good and be loud. Should I get crazy and do an electric cut out? Thanks for the help!!

get a cutout, then copy and paste this thread on performancetrucks.net and go from there :read: and also read alot over there. They have way better performance articles and info than fsc

You are definatly headed in the right direction. Stall will make massive gains, often .5 and better in the 1/4. You will get plenty of other ideas in pt! She should rip when you are done. They are fast out of the box with massive potential!

A "Tap Out" sticker adds at least 15hp, I swear!

Sounds like a cool project, though have to admit about being a little skeptical on beating a C6 Corvette (assuming 400 hp version) with bolt-ons...though it would be pretty neat. I guess it also depends on exactly what type of race it is as I can possibly see the AWD Denali beating it of f the line, but can't imagine it could maintain the lead in the 1/4 mile. The Denali is just so much heavier with a lot more drivetrain resistance.

I'll give an opinion as someone who drives an LS2 C6, but who also traded in a modded AWD TBSS...while not apples to apples, its a good enough comparison.
The launch is completely where you'd have the upperhand, the TBSS launched like a rocket, and that's with a factory stall. I estimate it to be in the neighborhood of a 12.9ish 1/4 mile time. The fact that you have a 6 speed auto is going to help immensely, simply because of the ratios not being so damn far apart...provided it shifts quickly and firmly.
Aerodynamics are obviously your biggest enemy here. I've realized a huge change going from a 450-460 hp, 4800 lb, awd suv to a 400hp, 3200 lb sports car with a .27 or .28cD. The pull from 75-120, for example, is pretty quick in the car, whereas it was a little more leasurely in the tbss.
To summaraize all that, stall and moar power, wherever you can find it.
