Is this something I need to worry about.

I had to do some work on my rear driver's side brake and while i was under the truck i noticed that the frame above the bump stop looked a little strange. is this something I need to be concerned about?

i think its just the paint and a layer of rust peeling off i wouldnt be worried till you see holes in the frame

bang the crap out of the frame near it from the side to knock all the loose stuff out, dont hit the bump stop or you will probably knock it off the frame. Then SPRAY some EXtend (any auto store)or Rust Kutter(TSC) on it good. crossy
