350 Vortec to 305 Vortec

new to the site. Swapping out the knocking 350 vortec for a 305 vortec this weekend. 305 is two years newer (98). Just wondering if there is any changes that will need to be done? Thanks

I'll spare you all the "Why would you do that" comments, and just say that the harmonic balancer and flexplate from the 305 must be used, but aside from that, all your accessories should bolt right up, as long as they're both Vortec engines.

lol using it because its cheap, know who had it, what it was in, and comes with gurranty. Did you mean the harmonic balancer and flexplate from 350 must be used or 305?
