ok what is the most restrictive piece to the stock y pipe i just recently put a custom 3 inch from y pipe back with flo pro muffler which is was on it an sounded ok. reasoning for doing this was the exhaust was fauling apart....previous owner did not take care of it lol....so my question is are headers worth the hassle?...and is the y pipe really the restrictive piece or is it the exhaust running to the y pipe

The ypipe is pretty restricive but i would def put the headers on,**** you can get the summit headers for 130 and it bolts right to the stock ypipe, the flowtech afterburner with their ypipe flows pretty damn good.

Yes get the headers first,Actually you pay for summit brand but you get pacesetters or flowtech. With good sealing gaskets no there will be zero leaks.I have summit racing heads on my sierra they are stamped pacesetter and really woke the powerband up but i have the vortec 350.Let me know how it goes.Whatever you do DO NOT use paper gaskets.
