Do I already have a tune?

So I went to buy a second hand superchip flashpaq for my 2003 1500HD 6.0L 4.10 gear Silverado from a guy the other day. Upon reading my trucks VIN, the flashpaq said the vehicles PCM setup was not stock. (I'm the third owner of the truck so its possible that the original owner tuned it). Does anyone know if there is any way of figuring out what kind of tune I might have and what it was optimized for without buying a tune that might not change much? Has anyone ever seen this sort of thing before?

Where in AB are you? I can tell you who to take it to so you can get this sorted out and yes this happens more often than you know. Guys will go in and buy programmer test it out not like and not like it so they return the programmer without setting the truck back to stock.
Stay away from SC crap a custom tune will do more.

I'm a couple hours NE of Edmonton. After thinking about it for a while, I had noticed before that the truck really responded to filling up with 91. It also has a slight knock that I dismissed as just a lifter sticking since that is not uncommon, but now i'm thinking there's a 91 performance tune on it (hence the knock when I fill with the usual 87). So I guess my first step will be to run a few tanks of 91 and see if my knock dissappears....so much for hopes and dreams of 18mpg. lol
