Im trying to build a motor for my grandpas old 93 silverado. I have a 4 bolt main block out of a mid 70's corvette that im going to have bored .030 (for now...) and i was planning on using the stock tbi and vortec head combination for the top end to try and save some money and time.

i want to restore my grandpas truck for him and he always wanted it to be fast, loud, and a head turner, so this is why im building him a new motor.

i want to build it, but i dont want to go balls out right from the start with dropping in a built big block and trying to get the front wheels off the ground from a launch. i just want to do a mild build and keep it a daily driver.

so i was wondering if anyone has any info on how this top end will handle the bigger bore? what i am concerned with is the tbi unit not being able to push enough air and fuel through it to fill the cylinders. any info or help is appreciated.
Thanks.

Stroke it, put a cam around 224-230 @ .050", and tune it with an EBL or other tuneable system. You won't get anywhere on a stock or mail-order tune.

If it has the original 193 heads, those aren't Vortec and you're better off going with a set of actual Vortecs (needing a different intake) or aftermarket heads (stay in the 170-190cc range).

Not really interested in spending the money to stroke it just yet. Like i said, i want to stay with 30 over right now. And i already planned on a cam, forgot to mention that.
And EBL....what the heck is that? Ive heard it before but i have no idea what it is for sure.

www.dynamicefi.com. It replaces part of the stock ECM and allows you to tune it with a laptop in the truck, there are no chips to burn, etc.
