So I'm out of town and am getting my 1999 Silverado lifted 6"+3" on 37's with rear locker and 4.88 gears. I recently had the 4L60E rebuilt with a rebuild kit from Monster Transmissions with nothing more than a few miles on it.

I need to drive the truck 1200 miles from Colorado to San Diego with little to no break in time for the transmission, lift and gears. How major of a problem is that going to be? Too major to make it impossible?

Thanks guys.

For the gears and lockers: The first 500 miles will need to be taken easy ie no flooring, burn outs, towing and also you will need to limit your travel to 25-30 and stop to let the gears cool down.

As far as the transmission some people say it doesn't matter if it was built right, others say wait 150 miles before beatin on it.

so in summary NO dont drive your truck
