Hey guys I just got a 1985 Chevy K10 that I had some questions about. First off it has a four inch lift kit with oversize tires on it, because of this I know the speedometer will be off but mine runs fast and bounces severely, can this fixed using a speedo calibration kit or is the whole gauge messed up? Also the fuel gauge does not work. The guy I bought it from said it works sporadically but I have yet to see it, is it possible the gauge is not hooked up right? The tank looks new so I thought that could be the culprit. And finally my front axle only has one locking hub on the passenger side, it seems like I have seen one like this before somewhere but I'm not sure. Is that the way it is supposed to be or has it had something done to it. There looks like there may be a cover over one on the drivers side but when I tried to pry it off it wouldn't budge and I don't want to break something. Anyway thanks for the time I'm sure these are all stupid questions I just thought it would be a good idea to get some guidance before I go ripping into the truck, I'll post some pictures up if it would be of any help it's just too dark right now. Anyway thanks again and I'll hope to hear some possible answers soon.

I have NEVER seen a truck with a drive slug on one side and a locking hub on the other. The drive slug, with the chrome cap, was used on '70's model full time 4wds.

Same here. I'd go with the locking hubs.

Ok I'll take the wheel off sometime in the next couple days and see whats up under there. Where can I look on the axle to find identification? I'm sorry for the dumb questions but I've never dealt with anything but IFS. I'll go pick up some warn hubs sometime soon and pop them on.

Not sure who told you that but I wouldn't believe another word they say.
