i ordered pacesetter long tubes for my 02 1500 5.3 and was wondering what bolts to order in order to replace the stock bolts cause surely one will break or something so decided to order new ones anyways

can someone get me a summit part number or a link to ones that will work?

oh and how many do i need

not sure on the size but most new sets of headers come with new bolts.

Header studs for a 3.1 gm engine work great with the GM triangle nuts that go with the studs. They used to be cheap, and stay tight.

oh alright i wasnt sure if it came with em or not and how good they were, im using felpro gaskets instead of the ones i know come with the kit since i know they are good and wont leak if its done right

I used oem exhaust manifold bolts. They have been on almost 5 years now, never had a bolt come lose or an exhaust leak. I even used the paper gaskets pacesetter sent with the headers. I would recommend OEM gaskets though.

I used stage 8 locking bolts. The pacesetters do come with bolts but I didn't use them. Also you will probably have to get some different bolts for the egr block off (mine broke off while tightening). Started installing mine today make sure and get some pb blaster for the collector bolts. I broke my 15mm socket before I went and picked some up.

I started soaking the bolts down with pb blaster a few days before, each day giving them a soak. All bolts came off fine. when installing, I tightened them from the middle outward to a certain torque, then on to the final torque. after a couple heat cycles, I retorqued everything. Never had a leak. Dont just throw everything in there and crank it down then later complain about loose bolts and exhaust leaks. Take you time and do it right and do it once.

yea i plan on using felpro gaskets as i get em cheap from work and ill start soaking the nuts now to prevent broken bolts later im not sure if im going to block off egr or not yet any pros/cons?
